RESOLUTION NO. 4678 (CCS)

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA MONICA lUTRORIZING NEGOTIATION OF MAINTENANCE
AND REPAIR AGREEMENT FOR POLICE DEPARTMENT VEHICLES
ON THE OPEN MARKET AND WAIVING CALL FOR FORMAL BIDS
WHEREAS, the City has need of maintenance and repair
service for Police Department vehicles; and
WHEREAS, formal invitations to bid elicited no response;
and
WHEREAS, to further advertise for bids for said service
would be to no avail and would cause unnecessary expense and delay.
NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the City of Santa Monica has need of
maintenance and repair service for Police Department vehicles.
SECTION 2. That to further advertise for bids for such
service would be to no avail and would cause unnecessary expense
and delay.
SECTION 3. That the City Manager is authorized to negotiate
agreements for maintenance and repair of Police Department vehicles
on the open market without further advertising for bids.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this resolution and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall he
in full force and effect.
