RESOLUTION NO. 4680 (CCS)

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA MONICA AUTHORIZING NEGOTIATION OF
MOBILE FOOD SERVICE CONCESSION AGREEMENT FOR
CITY-OWNED FACILITIES ON THE OPEN MARKET AND
WAIVING CALL FOR FORMAL BIDS
WHEREAS, the City has need of mobile food service at
the City Yards, Transportation Department, and Airport; and
WHEREAS, a formal concession agreement is considered
necessary to insure maximum revenue to the City and to estab-
lish food service standards; and
WHEREAS, it has been ascertained by informal bid
procedures that only one potential concessionaire is interested
in negotiating an agreement calling for a minimum guarantee plus
a percentage of the gross sales; and
WHEREAS, to further advertise for bids for said mobile
food service concession would be to no avail and would cause
unnecessary delay and loss of revenue;
NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA DOE S RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the City of Santa Monica has need of
mobile food service at the City Yards, Transportation Department
and Airport.
SECTION 2. That to further advertise for bids for said
mobile food service wouMbe to no avail and would cause unnecessary
delay and loss of revenue.
SECTION 3. The City Manager is hereby authorized to
negotiate concession agreements for mobile food service at the
City Yards, Transportation Department, Airport, and such other
locations where food service will be required, on the open market
without further advertising for bids.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this resolution and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall
be in full force and effect.
