RESOLUTION NO. 4690 {CCS}

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
t10~nCA AUTHORI ZING THE CITY t.1ANAGER TO EXECUTE ON BEHALF
OF THE CITY AN APPLICATION FOR FUNDS UNDER THE OMNIBUS
CRIME CONTROL AND SAFE STREETS ACT OF 1968.
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Monica desires to continue the
Plann~ng and Research Unit ~n lts Pollce Department to be funded
~n part from funds made avallable through the Ornnlbus Cr1me
Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968 adm1nistered by the
Cal~forn~a Counc~l on Criminal Just~ce.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Clty Manager of the
Clty of Santa Monlca is authorlzed to subffilt the attached
appllcation for grant for Law Enforcement Purposes to the
Callfornla Counell on Crlmlnal Justlce for ltS conslderatlon
and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that In the event that the Californ~a
Council on Crimlnal Justice consents to fund the project, the
Clty Manager 1S author~zed to execute on behalf of the City of
Santa Mon~ca the contract for the grant for Law Enforce~ent
Purposes;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the appl~cant agrees to provlde the
additional requ~red match~ng funds to said prOJect ln the amount
of $999;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that grant funds recelved hereunder shall
not be used to supplant ongo~ng law enforcement expendltures.
SECTION 1. The Clty Clerk shall certlfy to the adopt~on of
th1S resolut~on and thenceforth and thereafter the
same shall be in full force and effect.
