A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA SUPPORTING
THE REVISED STREET DESIGNATIONS FOR
THE BRENTWOOD-PACIFIC PALISADES PLAN
RECOMMENDED BY THE LOS ANGELES CITY
PLANNING DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, the modlfication ln design, configuration
or carrYlng capacity of Los Angeles streets and highways
constitutlng extenslons or contlnuatlons of Santa Monlca
streets, have dlrect and slgnlflcant lmpact upon trafflc and
propertles along those Santa Monlca routes; and
WHEREAS, sound communlty plannlng recognlzes the
need for adjolnlng areas and propertles to be fully consldered
and protected agalnst unnecessary or undesirable effects;
and
WHEREAS, the deslgnatlons for certaln streets as
orlglnally proposed In the Brentwood-Paclflc Pallsades Plan
could have an unnecessary and undesirable effect upon certaln
Santa Monlca streets by reason of proposlng lncreased capaclty
or wldenlng not respectively proposed for Santa Monlca
sectlons; and
WHEREAS, the Los Angeles City Plannlng Department
has_now recommended new deslgnatlons for San Vicente Boulevard,
Allenford Avenue, Ocean Avenue extenslon and Entrada Drlve
WhlCh better conform to the eXlstlng and proposed widths and
capacltles of correspondlng Santa Monlca sectlons; and
WHEREAS, the proposed new delsgnatlons would malntaln
that portion of San Vicente Boulevard ln the Clty of Los

NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1.
That the Los Angeles Clty Plannlng
CommiSSlon be and 1S hereby urged to support the revised street
deslgnatlons wlth partlcular emphasls upon the preservatlon of
the existing configuratlon, medlan widths and trees on San
Vlcente Boulevard.
SECTION 2.
The Clty Clerk shall certify to
the adoptlon of thls resolutlon, and thenceforth and there-
after the same shall be 10 full force and effect.
