RESOLUTION NO. 4712 (CCS)

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA MONICA AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF SUR-
PLUS STEEL MATS AND WAIVING THE CALL FOR FOR-
MAL BIDS
WHEREAS, The City of Santa Monica has a certain lot
of used pierced steel mats no longer required for its operations;
and
WHEREAS, the City has requested bids informally from
twenty-four (24) potential purchasers and has received nine (9)
bids considered to be equivalent to bids that might be received
through formal bid procedure; and
WHEREAS, to advertise for formal bids for disposition
of this material would cause unnecessary expense and delay.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNC 11 OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager is authorized to sell
this lot of pierced steel mats on the basis of informal bids
previously received.
SECTION 2. That the City Council finds that the sale
of this matting is in the best interests of the City and that
to advertise formally for bids would be to no avail and would
cause unnecessary expense and delay.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall
be in full force and effect.
