A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SAN~ MONICA APPROVING A SUPPLE-
MENTAL AGREEMENT EXTENDING THE EASEMENT-
AGREEMENT WITH THE SOUTHERN PACIFIC
TRANSPORTATION COMPANY IN CONNECTION WITH
THE WIDENING OF CLOVER FIELD BOULEVARD.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Santa Monica,
on November 26, 1968, entered into an Easement-Agreement, being
Contract No. 1848 (City Council Series), approved by Resolution
No. 3891 (City Council Series), with the Southern Pacific Com-
pany, a corporation, which agreement relates to certain ease-
ments to the City of Santa Monica and the performance of certain
track work by the Southern Pacific Company in connection with
the widening of Clover Field Boulevard; and
WHEREAS, the Supplement to the Easement-Agreement
expired on December 17, 1975 unless construction started prior
to said date; and
WHEREAS, due to delays in plan preparation and right-
of-way acquisition the project 1s not yet ready for construction;
and
WHEREAS, Southern Pacific Transportation Company
(formerly Southern Pacific Company) is willing to extend said
agreement upon the request of the City, and has submitted a
Supplemental Agreement providing for such extension for two
years.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That certain Supplemental Agreement by
and between the City of Santa Monica, a municipal corporation,
and the Southern Pacific Transportation Company (formerly
Southern Pacific Company) a corporation, which extends the time

limit o~ the above mentioned Easement-Agreement from December
17, 1975 to December 17, 1977, hereby is approved.
SECTION 2. The City Manager o~ the City of Santa
Monica be, and he hereby is, authorized and instructed to
execute said agreement.
SECTION 3. The city Clerk shall certify to the adop-
tion of this resolution and thenceforth and thereafter the same
shall be in full force and ef~ect.
