R-4752 ~ ~ e -- RESOLUTION NO.4752(CCS) (City Council Series) A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA WAIVING CALL FOR BIDS AND AUTHORIZING DIRECT NEGOTIATION FOR PROVISION OF MUNICIPAL AIRPORT SECURITY PATROL SERVICE WHEREAS, the Santa Monica Municipal Airport has need of security patrol service; and WHEREAS, the City has canvassed fifteen (15) agencies providing this service, and has received informal bids from twelve (12) bidders; and WHEREAS, to further advertise for bids would be to no avail and would cause unnecessary expense and delay. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That the City Council finds that the requirement exists for security patrol service at Santa Monica Municipal Airport and that to advertise formally for bids would be to no avail and would cause unnecessary expense and delay. SECTION 2. That the City Manager is authorized to purchase the required security patrol service on the open market without calling for formal bids. SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
