A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA MONICA WAIVING BID PROCEDURE AND AUTHOR-
IZING THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE DIRECTLY
FOR PURCHASE OF MUNICIPAL BUS LINE ROUTE MAPS
WHEREAS, the City has need of route maps for distribution
to municipal bus line patrons; and
WHEREAS, informal proposals have been received from the known
vendors qualified to produce this sp~cialized product; and
WHEREAS, to advertise formally for these maps would entail
additional expense and delay without assurance of significant
reductions in cost.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager is authorized to negotiate
directly for procurement of these maps on the open market without
calling for bids.
SECTION 2. That the City Council finds that the purchase of
these maps is of necessity to the City and that to solicit bids
formally would be to no avail and would cause unnecessary expense
and delay.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this resolution and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be
in full force and effect.
