A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE ON BEHALF OF THE CITY
AN APPLICATION FOR FUNDS UNDER THE OMNIBUS CRIME CONTROL N1D
SAFE STREETS ACT OF 1968.
WHEREAS, the Clty of Santa Monlca deslres to contlnue the Plannlng and
Research Unlt In ltS Pollee Department to be funded ln part from funds
~ade available pursuant to the Crlme Control Act of 1973, PL 93-83,
admlnlstered by the offlce of Crlmlnal Justlce P1annlng (hereafter
referred to as OCJP) for the Ca1lfornla CouncLl on Crlmlna Justlce.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Clty Manager of the Clty of
Santa MonlCa 15 authorlzed, on LtS behalf, to 5ubmlt the attached
appllcatlon for grant for Law Enforcement Purposes to OCJP for ltS
conslderation and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that In the event that the Callfornla Councll
on Crlmlnal Justlce consents to fund the proJect, the Clty Manager is
authorlzed to execute on behalf of the Clty of Santa Monlca the con-
tract for the grant for Law Enforcement purposes lncludlng any exten-
Slons or amendments thereof:
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the appllcant agrees to provlde all matchlng
funds requlred for sald proJect under the Crlme Control Act and the
rules and regulatlons of OCJP and the Law Enforcement Assistance (LEAA)
and that cash wlll be approprlated as requlred thereby lTI the sum of
$2,971;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that grant funds recelved hereunder shall not be
used to supplant ongoing law enforcement expendltures.
SECTION 1 The Clty Clerk Shall certlfy to the adoption of thls resolu-
tlon and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be ln full
force and effect.
