RESOLUTION NO. 4763(CCS)
(CI~OUNCIL SERIES)
,;
""'"-
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA MONICA REJECTING ONE BID, WAIVING FURTHER
CALL FOR BIDS AND AUTHORIZING DIRECT NEGOTIATION
FOR PROVISION OF POLICE VEHICLE REPAIR SERVICE
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Monica has need of police vehicle
repair service; and
WHEREAS, the City has advertised formally for provision of
this service and has received one bid; and
WHEREAS, it is questionable as to whether or not this bidder's
equipment is adequate to accomplish the required repairs in a timely
fashion; and
WHEREAS, to issue another formal call for bids would entail
additional delay and expense with no assurance of improved response.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the City Council finds that the requirement
exists for police vehicle repair service.
Section 2. That the sole bidder responding to the City's
formal invitation to provide this service is not considered adequately
equipped to provide timely repairs.
Section 3. That to further advertise for bids would cause
additional delay and expense with no assurance of improved response.
Section 4. That the sole bid is rejected, additional bid
procedure is waived, and the City Manager is authorized to negotiate
for the required repair service on the open market.
Section 5. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this resolution and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be
in full force and effect.
ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 13th
day of July
