RESOLUTION NO. 4763(CCS) (CI~OUNCIL SERIES) ,; ""'"- A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA REJECTING ONE BID, WAIVING FURTHER CALL FOR BIDS AND AUTHORIZING DIRECT NEGOTIATION FOR PROVISION OF POLICE VEHICLE REPAIR SERVICE WHEREAS, the City of Santa Monica has need of police vehicle repair service; and WHEREAS, the City has advertised formally for provision of this service and has received one bid; and WHEREAS, it is questionable as to whether or not this bidder's equipment is adequate to accomplish the required repairs in a timely fashion; and WHEREAS, to issue another formal call for bids would entail additional delay and expense with no assurance of improved response. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That the City Council finds that the requirement exists for police vehicle repair service. Section 2. That the sole bidder responding to the City's formal invitation to provide this service is not considered adequately equipped to provide timely repairs. Section 3. That to further advertise for bids would cause additional delay and expense with no assurance of improved response. Section 4. That the sole bid is rejected, additional bid procedure is waived, and the City Manager is authorized to negotiate for the required repair service on the open market. Section 5. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
