A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
EXECUTE ON BEHALF OF THE CITY AN
APPLICATION FOR FUNDS UNDER THE
OMNIBUS CRIME CONTROL AND SAFE
STREETS ACT OF 1968.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES
HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, the Clty of Santa Monica des1res to
cont~nue the Legal Plannlng Un~t for Crlminal Justlce ~n
ltS Clty Attorney's Offlce to be funded In part from funds
made avallable pursuant to the Cr1me Control Act of 1973,
PL 93-83, admin1stered by the Off1ce of Cr1m1nal Just1ce
P1annlng (hereafter referred to as OCJP) for the Californla
Council on Crlmlnal Justlce.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the C1ty Manager
of the City of Santa Monlca is authorized, on ltS behalf, to
submit the attached appllcatlon for Grant for law enforcement
purposes to OCJP for its consideration; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that ln the event that the
Ca11fornia Councll on Crlm~nal Justlce consents to fund the
proJect w1th $12,396, the Clty Manager 15 authorlzed to execute
on behalf of the City of Santa Monlca the contract for the
Grant for law enforcement purposes includ1ng any extens10ns
or amendments thereof,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the appllcant agrees
to provide all match1ng funds requ~red for sald proJect under
the Crime Control Act and the rules and regulatlons of OCJP

and the Law Enforcement A551stance Admlnlstratlon (LEAA)j and
that cash will be approprlated as requlred thereby in the sum
of SlX Hundred Elghty-N1ne ($689) Dollarsj
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Grant funds rece1ved
hereunder shall not be used to supplant ongolng law enforce-
ment expendltures.
SECTION 1.
The Clty Clerk shall certify to
the adoptlon of thlS Resolutlon and thenceforth and thereafter
the same shall be 1n full force and effect.
