A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
REQUESTING THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
OF THE COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES TO
CONSOLIDATE THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA SPECIAL ELECTION TO BE HELD
ON NOVEMBER 2, 1976, WITH THE
STATEWIDE GENERAL ELECTION TO BE
HELD NOVEMBER 2, 1976.
WHEREAS, this City Council has adopted an ordinance
call1ng an election to be held on November 2, 1976, ln the
Clty of Santa Monlca, for the purpose of submlttlng to the
qualifled electors of said Clty a proposltion here~nafter
set forth and has ordered sald election to be consolldated
w~th the statew~de general elect~on to be held on November 2,
1976.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA MONICA DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AND DETERMINE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1.
That the Board of Supervlsors of the
County of Los Angeles be, and ~t lS hereby requested to consent
to and order the consolldatlon of sald election to be held in
the City of Santa Monlca on November 2, 1976, and called by
ordlnance adopted by thlS Clty Council wlth the statewide
general election to be held on November 2, 1976. The exact
form of the questlon or proposltion to be voted upon at said
electlon as lt shall appear upon the ballot 15 as follows:
PROPOSITION NO.1. REFERENDUM ON AN
O~INANCE APPROVING A PUBLIC LEASEBACK
AGREEMENT TO FINANCE THE CONSTRUCTION
OF PARKING FACILITIES AND RELATED PUBLIC
IMPROVEMENTS. Shall the Ordinance
approving a public leaseback agreement
between the Clty of Santa Monica and
the Redevelopment Agency of the Clty of
Santa Monica to flnance the construction
of parking facilltles and related public
lmprovements for the proposed shopping
center WhlCh lncludes new department

between Second and Fourth Streets and
Broadway and Colorado Avenue be adopted?
SECTION 2.
Said Board of Supervisors is hereby
author~zed to canvass the returns of said Clty election which
~s hereby requested be consol~dated with sa~d statewlde
general electlon and said electlons shall be held ln all
respects as if there were only one electlon and only one form
of ballot shall be used.
SECTION 3.
Sald Board of superv~sors 1S hereby
requested to ~ssue instruct10ns to the Registrar of Voters
to take any and all steps necessary to the hold~ng of said
consolldated election.
SECTION 4.
That the C~ty Clerk of the Clty of
Santa Monlca 15 hereby directed to f~le certified coples of
this resolution w~th the Board of Supervlsors of the County
of Los Angeles, with the Registrar of Voters of sald County,
and with the County Clerk of said County.
