RESOLUTION NO. 4805(CCS)
(CITY COUNCIL SERIES)
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA MONICA WAIVING FORMAL BID PROCEDURE
AND AUTHORIZING DIRECT NEGOTIATION FOR PUR-
CHASE OF A PORTABLE OSCILLOSCOPE WITH ACCESSORIES.
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Monica has need of a portable
oscilloscope with accessories to field test communications equipment,
and
WHEREAS, the City has formally advertised for bids to
supply this instrument and has received no responsive bid, and
WHEREAS, to re-advertise formally for bids would result in
unnecessary expense and delay.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the City Council finds that the requirement
exists for a portable oscilloscope with accessories.
SECTION 2. That the initial bid solicitation has satisfied
the city charter and municipal code provisions for competetive bidding.
SECTION 3. That to re-advertise formally for bids would
entail unnecessary expense and delay.
SECTION 4. That further formal bid procedure is hereby
waived for this oscilloscope.
SECTION 5. The City }Mnager is hereby authorized to
negotiate directly for the portable oscilloscope with accessories.
SECTION 6. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this resolution and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be
in full force and effect.
