A RESOLUTION OF THE CI.TY .cOUNCIL
OF. THE ern QF SANTA MONICA
ORDERING THE VACATION. OF A poRTION
OF . THAT CERTAIN ALLEY ~ AS
PICO PLACE NORTH BETWEEN APP-!AN
WAY AND OCEAN AVENUEf' ALL IN THE
CITY OF SANTA MONICA.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the City Co~ncil of the City of
Santa Monica having.heard the evidence offered in relation to
the proposed vacation of that certain alley known ~s Pica
Place North betw~en Appian ~'lay and Ocean Avenue r as shown on
the map of, Tract No~ :1111, in the City of Santa Monica,
County of Los AngeJ-es, State of California, 'recorded in
Book 17, Page ~54-l55 of Official Records, in the'Offic~ of
the Recorder of s~~d County, hereby finds from all of the
evidence submitted that a portion of the alley above referred
to and proposed to be vacated and abandoned by Resol~tion
No. 4801 {City Council Series', being that p,ortion from Ocean
Avenue to the northwesterly prolongat~on of the so~thwesterly
line.of Lot ~, ~s unnece$sary for presen~"pr prospective street
purposes. Fo~ full particula~s raference_~er~y is made to
Map No. 4087A on file in the office of the C~~y Clerk of sa~d
City; which map is entitled, "Map of Pico Pl~ce ~th between

The City Council of the City of Santa Mon~ca in
vacating sa~d portion of said Pico Place North, hereby makes
sald vacation conditional on the abutting property owner
relocat~ng all water ma~ns, gas lines, abandoning alley
approaches, constructing a sanitary sewer manhole and
dedicating and construct~ng a turnaround area to the satis-
faction of the City Eng~neer in portions of Lots 13 and 14.
It therefore is ordered that said portion of the
alley be and the same hereby 1S vacated, but at such time that
the property on the northwesterly side of the alley is
separated for any reason by any person, .owner of -abutting
property or his successor 1n interest from common ownership
with the property on the southeasterly side of the alley,
adJoinlng the vacated portlon, this vacation shall be term-
ina~ed and said existing alley shall revert to a public way.
SECTION 2.
The City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this resolution and the same shall be in full
force and effect on and after November 24, 1976. The City
Clerk shall also cause a copy of this resolut~on to be
recorded in the Office of the County Recor~er of the County
of Los Angeles.
ADOPTED and APPROVED this 26th day of October
