RESOLUTION NO. 4808(CCS)
(CITY COUNCIL SERIES)
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA MONICA WAIVING FURTHER FORMAL BID
PROCEDURE AND AUTHORIZING DIRECT NEGOTIATION
FOR LEASE OF AN AUTOMOBILE
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Monica has the requirement
to furnish, on a reimbursable basis, a leased automobile to be
used in a federally-funded project; and
WHEREAS, the City has formally advertised for bids to
supply this automobile and has received no responsive bid; and
WHEREAS, to re-advertise formally for bids would re-
sult in unneccessary expense and delay.
NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNC IL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the City Council finds that the require-
ment exists to lease an autombile.
SECTION 2. That the initial bid solicitation has
satisfied the city charter and municipal code provisions for
competitive bidding.
SECTION 3. That to re-advertise formally for bids would
entail unnecessary expense and delay.
SECTION 4. That further formal bid procedure is hereby
waived for leasing this automobile.
SECTION 5. The City Manager is hereby authorized to
negotiate directly for leasing this automobile.
SECTION 6. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall
be in full force and effect.
