A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA RECOGNIZ ING
FRANK O. GEHRY & ASSOCIATES AND RAYMOND
KAPPE FOR THEIR ACCOMPLISHMENTS IN THE
FIELD OF ARCHITECTURE.
WHEREAS, Frank O. Gehry & Associates has been awarded
the 1976 Honor Award by the American Institute of Architecture
for the design of the Rouse Company Headquarters in Columbia
Maryland; and,
WHEREAS, Raymond Kappe has been awarded the 1976
Honor Award by the American Institute of Architecture for the
design of the Sci-Arc Building in Santa Monica; and
WHEREAS, Frank O. Gehry & Associates are located in
Santa Monica; and.
WHEREAS, Raymond Rappe is located in Santa Monica; and,
WHEREAS, only three (3) Honor Awards were given in
the ALA 1976 Design Awards Competition.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Santa
Monica does resolve as follows:
SECTION 1.
That Frank O. Gehry & ASsociates and
Raymond Rappe are hereby commended for their outstanding
accomplishments in the field of architecture, and for their
contributions to the cultural and aesthetic heritage of the
City of Santa Monica.
SECTION 2.
The City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter
the same shall be in full force and effect.
ADOPTED and APPROVED this 9th day of November, 1976.
