RESOLUTION NO. 4813
(CITY COUNCIL SERIES)
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA MONICA WAIVING COMPETITIVE BID PRO-
CEDURE FOR NEWSPAPER AND PERIODICAL ADVERTISING
WHEREAS, the City has need to advertise from time to time
in newspapers and periodicals; and
WHEREAS, certain such publications are best suited for this
use either because of circulation or reader orientation; and
WHEREAS, the charge for such advertising is based on size
and frequency of insertion and is not subject to negotiation.
THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the City of Santa Monica has need to
advertise in newspapers and periodicals.
SECTION 2. That certain publications, best suited for
this purpose, have established non-negotiable rates for such advertis-
ing.
SECTION 3. That competitive bid procedure is not appro-
priate for procurement of advertising.
SECTION 4. That competitive bid procedure is hereby
waived for advertising in newspapers and periodicals.
SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this resolution and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in
full force and effect.
