A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA MONICA GRANTING THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA
RIGHT-OF-WAY DEEDS FOR USE IN COrnf.ECTION WITH
THE ERECTION OF PEDESTRIAN OVER-CROSSINGS ON
THE PACIFIC COAST HIGHWAY AND DIRECTING THE CITY
l~NAGER TO EXECUTE THE REVISED RIGHT-OF-WAY
CONTRACT AND THE REVISED GRANT DEED.
WHEREAS, the State of California Department of Trans-
portation has proposed to build three pedestrian over-crossings
across Pacific Coast Highway in the vicinity of Broadway, Idaho
and Montana, in the City of Santa Monica; and
WHEREAS, such over-crossings will be of benefit to
the prople of Santa Monica in that it will provide a greater
degree of safety for those pedestrians seeking access to the
beach from the top of the bluff and will permit a more even flow
of traffic along the Pacific Coast Highway; and
rlliEREAS, before construction of the desired improve-
ments C~D commence it is necessary that the City of Santa Mon~ca
enter into a right-of-way contract, a grant deed for a strip of
property to connect Ocean Avenue with the beach approximately at
Montana Avenue, and a grant deed for a parcel to connect Ocean
Avenue with the beach approximately at Broadway.
NOly, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The State of California Department of
Transportation is hereby granted
right-of-way deeds for use
in connection with the erection of two pedestrian overcrossings
over Pacific Coast Highway, one approximately at Broadway and
one approximately at Montana Avenue.
SECTION 2. The City Manager is directed to execute
the Grant Deeds~ copies of which are attached hereto, marked
Exhibit A and Exhibit B, and by this reference incorporated
herein and made a part hereof as though set out in full hereafter.

SECTION 3. The City Manager is also directed to
execute the Right-or-Way Contract, a copy of which is attached
hereto, marked Exhibit C, and by this reference incorporated
herein and made a part hereof as though set out in full
hereafter.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adop-
tlon of this resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter the
same shall be in full force and effect.
ADOPTED and APPROVED this 8th day of February, 1977.
