A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COm~CIL
OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
CLOSING HAIN STREET BET\'1EEN PIER
AVENUE AND OCEAN PARK BOULEVARD
BETWEEN 6:00 A.M. AND 9:00 P.M.
ON SUNDAY, AUGUST 21, 1977.
WHEREAS, It lS proposed that sales and exhlbltlons
be conducted out of doors in the area of Haln Street between
Pier Avenue and Ocean Park Boulevard on Sunday, August 22,
1977; and
WHEREAS, such sales and exhibitions are in the
public lnterest, and for the beneflt of the Clty of Santa
Monica; and,
WHEREAS, the closing of Maln Street to veh~cular
traffic between Pler Avenue and Ocean Park Boulevard is
necessary for the safety and protectlon of persons part1cipatlng
ln and attendlng sald exhlbltlons and sales.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1.
That the closing of Main Street
between PleT Avenue and Ocean Park Boulevard on August 22,
1977, between the hours of 6:00 o'clock a.m. and 9:00 o'clock
p.m. lS necessary for the safety and protection of persons
partlclpating ln and attending the sales and exhlbitlons to
be held thereat.
SECTION 2.
That Main Street, in the Clty of
Santa Monica, shall be barricaded and closed to vehicular
trafflc between the hours of 6:00 o'clock a.m. and 9:00 o'clock
p.m. on August 21, 1977.
