R-4910 . #j RESOLUTION NO. 4910(CCS) (CITY COUNCIL SERIES) A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF AN APPLI- CATION ON BEHALF OF THE SANTA MONICA POLICE DEPARTMENT. WHEREAS, the Clty of Santa Monlca, Callfornla deslres to partlclpate in a certaln proJect deslgnated South Bay Reglonal Burglary Team to be funded ln part from funds made avallable through the Omnlbus Crlme Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968, PL90-355, as amended, PL91-644, (hereafter referred to as the Safe Streets Act) admlnlstered by the Callfornla Offlce of crlmlnal Justlce Plannlng; and WHEREAS, the Callfornla OfflCe of Crlmlnal JUStlCe Plannlng has been or- ganlzed to admlnlster the funds approprlated by Congress and allocated for use ln Callfornla under the provlslons of the law; and WHEREAS, the Southern California Assoclatlon of Governments has been deslgnated as the Reglonal Advisory Board for Reglon R lncludlng the Los Angeles Metropolltan Area; and IVHEREAS, the Los Angeles Reglonal Cr1m~al Justlce Plannlng Board has been organlzed and has publlshed a Reglonal Cr~lnal Justlce Master Plan for Reglon R; and WHEREAS, the CJ.ty of Redondo Beach, on behalf of the cltles of: Culver Clty, El Segundo, Gardena, Hawthorne, Hermosa Beach, Inglewood, Lawndale, Lomlta, Manhattan Beach, Palos Verdes Estates, Redondo Beach, Rolllng Hllls Estates, Santa Manlca, Torrance, Lennox Statlon Area, Rolling Hllls, and Rancho Palos Verdes submltted an appllcatlon for a grant of $346,389 to fund a Crlme Speclflc - Burglary Program entltled South Bay Reglonal Burglary Team and WHEREAS, the sum of $1,692.16 has been assessed of the Clty of Santa Monlca for the hard cash matchlng funds requirement, NOW, THEREFORE, the Clty Council of the Clty of Santa Monlca, Callfornla, DOES RESOLVE as follows: 1. That the Clty Councll agrees to partlG1pate In the proposed South Bay Reglonal Burglary Team to accept ltS share of the grant, and to provlde the Clty'S share of hard Gash IDatchlng funds WhlCh has been determlned to be a sum equal to $1,692.16 fI . .. 2. That the C1ty Manager lS herew1th des1gnated as the C1ty's representative 1n the conduct of the South Bay Reg10nal Burglary Team and lS author1zed to furn1sh 1nformat1on, execute documents, make expend1tures and perform assoc1ated adm1nlstrative funct10ns w1th1n the scope of autho- r1ty granted by th1s resolut1on. The C1ty Manager may des1gnate other employees as necessary to ass1st hLm 1n these dut1es. 3. That the grant funds recelved hereunder shall not be used to supplant on-golng law enforcement expend1tures. 4. That 1n the conduct of thlS ProJect, the Clty wll1 comply w1th Tltle VI of the C1V11 R1ghts Act of 1964. ADOPTED AND APPROVED thls 23rd , 1977.
