A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF S&~TA MONICA ACCEPT-
ING THE SUM OF $25.186.32
FROM THE SANTA MONICA CENTENNIAL
COMMITTEE AND EXPRESSING THE
APPRECIATION OF THE CITY FOR THE
WORK OF THE COMMITTEE.
WHEREAS, the Santa Mon~ca Centenn~al Cornm~ttee
was organized as a Californ~a non-prof~t corporation for the
purpose of promoting the celebration commemorat~ng the 100th
b~rthday of the C~ty of Santa Mon~ca; and,
WHEREAS, the Santa Mon~ca Centenn~al Comm~ttee,
during the year of the lOOth anniversary of the C~ty of
Santa Mon~ca, 1975, raised money and promoted the event in
the C~ty of Santa Monica; and,
WHEREAS, the Santa Monica Centennial Comm~ttee
1S propos1ng to d~ssolve and to glve to the C1ty of Santa
Monica those funds remaining and unused for the purposes for
Wh1Ch lt was formed.
NOW, THEREFORE, the C~ty Council of the C~ty of Santa
Monlca does resolve as follows:
SECTION 1.
That, on behalf of 1tself and the
City of Santa Monica, the Santa Mon~ca Centennial Committee
be and is hereby commended for 1 ts work ~n promot~ng the lOOth
anniversary of the City.
SECTION 2.
That the C~ty accept the sum of

from the Santa Monica Centennlal
Committee, for use by the Clty, sald sum belng surplus
monies ralsed by the Centennlal Cornmlttee and not needed
for the purposes for WhlCh lt was fo~ed.
SECTION 3.
The Clty Clerk shall certlfy to the
adoption of this resolutlon, and thenceforth and thereafter
the same shall be in full force and effect.
ADOPTED and APPROVED this 13th day of
September
1977 .
