A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA MONICA WAIVING CALL FOR BIDS AND AUTHORIZING
PURCHASE OF FOUR-DOOR SEDAN
WHEREAS, the Woodlawn Cemetery has need of a four-door
sedan appropriate in size and color for use in the cemetery's
business; and
WHEREAS, the City has canvassed six (6) local car agencies
and has located only one (1) suitable car, and
WHEREAS, to further advertise for bids would be to no avail
and would cause unnecessary expense and delay
NOW, THEREFORE THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS
SECTION 1. That the City Council finds that the requirement
exists at Woodlawn Cemetery for a specific type of 1977 automobile
and to advertise formally for bids would be to no avail and would
cause unnecessary expense and delay.
SECTION 2. That the City Manager is authorized to purchase
the required automobile on the open market without calling for
formal bids.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall
be in full force and effect.
