A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA AUTHORIZING
THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE ON BEHALF
OF THE CITY AN APPLICATION FOR FUNDS
UNDER THE OMNIBUS CRIME CONTR9L AND
SAFE STREETS ACT OF 1968.
THE CITY C9UNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES
HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Monica desires to
cont~nue the Legal Plann~ng unit for Cr~minal Justice in
1tS City Attorney's Office to be funded in part from
funds made available pursuant to the Cr1me Control Act
of 1973, PL 93-83, adm1nistered by the office of Crim-
inal Just1ce Planning (hereafter referred to as OCJP)
for the Ca11forn1a Counc~l on Cr1minal Justice.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City

Manager of the City of Santa Monica is authorized, on 1tS
behalf, to subm1t the attached application for Grant
.for Law Enforcement Purposes ~~ OCJP fqr its 'consideration
and,
BE I~ FURTHER kgSOLVED, that ~n the event that the
Cal~fornia Council on ~riminal Justice consents to fund
the project, the City Manager 1S author1zed to execute
on behalf of the City of Santa Monica the cQntract for the
Grant for Law Enforcement Purposes including any extens~ons

I hereby certify that the foreg61ng Resolution was
duly adopted- by the City Council of the Clty of Santa
Monica at a regular meeting thereof, held on the

or amendments thereof;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the applicant agrees to
provide all matching funds required for said proJect under
the Crime Control Act and the rules and regulations of
OCJP and the Law Enforcement Assistance Adm~nistration
(LEAA); and that cash w11l be appropriated as requ1red
thereby in the sum of N1ne Hundred and Seventy Dollars
and forty-five cents ($970.45).
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Grant funds received
hereunder shall not be used to supplant ongoing law
enforcement expendltures.
BE IT FUR~ER RESOLVED that it is the intent of the
City Council to support the C~ty Attorney in his desire to
make use of the planning completed W1th LEAA funds and to
maintaln the planning functions without the need for City
expendltures in excess of those budgeted.
Section 1. The City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this Resolution and thenceforth and there-
after the same shall be in full force and effect.
