A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY com~CIL
OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
AUTHORIZING THE CONDEMNATION
AND ACQUISITION OF CERTAIN REAL
PROPERTY FOR A PUBLIC USE, TO WIT:
THE EXPANSION OF THE CITY TRANSPORTATION
FACILITIES, AND THE CONSTRUCTION OF
APPURTENANCES THERETO; FINDING AND
DECLARING THAT (a) THE PUBLIC
INTEREST AND NECESSITY REQUIRE THE
PROPOSED EXPANSION OF THE CITY
TRANSPORTATION FACILITIES AND THE
CONSTRUCTION OF APPURTENANCES THERETO,
(b) SAID EXPANSION AND CONSTRUCTION
OF APPURTENANCES THERETO ARE PLANNED
OR LOCATED IN A MANNER THAT WILL BE
MOST COMPATIBLE WITH THE GREATEST
PUBLIC GOOD AND THE LEAS'r PRIVATE
INJURY AND {c) THE REAL PROPERTY
DESCRIBED HEREINAFTER IN THIS RESOLUTION
IS NECESSARY FOR SAID EXPANSION AND
CONSTRncTION OF APPURTENANCES THERETO:
DECLARING THE INTENTION OF THE CITY
OF SANTA MONICA TO ACQUIRE SAID REAL
PROPERTY UNDER EtUNENT DOMAIN PROCEDINGS;
AND DIRECTING THE CITY ATTORNEY OF THE
CITY OF SANTA MONICA TO COMMENCE AN
ACTION IN THE SUPERIOR COURT OF THE
STATE OF CALIFORNIA" FOR THE COUNTY OF
LOS AN_GELES" FOR THE PURPOSE OF ACQUIRING
SAID PROPERTY.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES
-RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1.

SECTION 2. Pursuant to the Emlnent Doma~n Law
(Sect~on 1230.010 et seq. of the Cal~forn1a Code of C1Vl1
Procedure), the Clty of Santa Monica ~s a public entity
author~zed to acqukre the herelnbelow described real
property by em~nent domain.
SECTION 3. The real property to be condemned ln
fee tltle is here~nafter descrlbed and deslgnated as Parcel
No. 1 (Santa Monica Office Park - Republic Development
Companyl, and lS more fully described as follows:

Park - Republic Development Company)
All of Lots 34-37, 64-68, portions
of Lots 38 and 63, and that portlon
of 6th Court (vacated) adjacent to
above Lots, Central Addltion, in the
City of Santa Monlca, County of Los
Angeles, State of Callfornia, as
shown on map recorded in Book 3,
Pages 176 and 177 of Miscellaneous
Reqords, in the Offlce-of the County
~ecorder qf sa~d County, lying
northerly of and contiguous to the
nor~hwesterly ~~ne of westbound
Olympic Boulevard.

SECTION 4.
The City Council ~f the Clty of
Santa Monica finds and determines: J-
A. That the expanslon Of the
fac~lities of the Department of
Transportatlon of the City of
Santa Monlca, and the construction
of appurtenances thereto, is a use
authorized by law~
B. That the public interest and
necessity requires sald expansion,

C. That said expans10n, and
construction of appurtenances thereto,
are planned or located In the manner
that w~ll be,most compatihle with
the greatest public good and-the
le~gt private injury~ and
D. That the real property descrlbed
hereinabove is necessary for said
expanSlon, and construction of
appurtenances thereto.
SECTION 5 ~
The City Attorney of the City of
Santa Monica ~s hereby authorlzed, empowered and directed

to commence an action ln the Super~or Court of the State
of California;'~or the county of Los Angeles, in the name
and on behalf of the C~ty of Santa Monica, agalnst all
owners and claimants of the above-described real property,
for the purpose of condemn~ng and acquiring sa~d property
for the use of sa~d City, and, furthermore, to take any
and all steps necessary for the acquislt~on of sa~d real
property in the name of the Clty of Santa Monlca, and to
acquire lmmedlate possession of the same.
SECTION 6.
The Clty Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this resolut1on, and thencef0rth and thereafter
the same shall be in full force and effect.
