A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
REQUESTING THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
OF THE COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES TO
CONSOLIDATE THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
SPECIAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON
JUNE 6, 1978 WITH THE STATEWIDE
PRIMARY ELECTION TO BE HELD JUNE 6,
1978.
WHEREAS, thlS Clty Counc1l has adopted a
resolution call1ng an elect~on to be held on June p, 197~
ln the City of Santa Monlca, for the purpose of sUbmitting
to the qua1~fied electors of sald City a proposit~on
herelnafter set forth and has ordered said election to be
consol~dated with the statewlde general electlon to be
held on June 0, 1978.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Counc~l of the Clty
of Santa Monlca does hereby resolve and determine as follows:
SECTION 1.
That the Board of Superv~sors of
the County of Los Angeles be, and 1S hereby requested to
consent to and order the consol~dation of said election
to be held ~n the City of Santa Monica on June 6, 1978,
and called by resolution adopted by thlS Clty Council wlth
the statewlde general election to be he~d on June 6, 1978.
The exact form of the question or proposition to be voted
upon at sa~d election as it shall appear upon the ballot

From sources I1mlted
to federal and state flnanclal ass~stance
funds, ~ncludlng Communlty Development
Block Grant funds, and redevelopment
tax lncrement funds, shall the Clty
of Santa Monlca, through 1ts
appropriate agencles, develop,
flnance or rehabllltate, but not
own or operate, wlthin the C~ty,
houslng for rental to low and
moderate lnCOme persons, no less
than fifty percent (50%) of Wh1Ch
shall be reserved for persons age
SlXty (60) and older, not to exceed,
In total throughout the Clty, one
percent {l%) of the dwel11ng un1ts
ln the Clty?
SECTION 2.
Sald Board of Superv1sors lS hereby
authorlzed to canvass the returns of sald Clty electlon
WhlCh lS hereby requested to be consol1dated wlth sald
statewide pr~mary elect~on and sald elect10ns shall be
held ~n all respects as If there were only one election
and only one form of ballot shall be used.

SECTION 3.
Sald Board of SupervIsors is hereby
requested to lssue lnstructlons to the Reglstrar of Voters
to take any and all steps necessary to the holding of saId
consol1dated e1ectlon.
SECTION 4.
The City Clerk of the Clty of Santa
Mon~ca ~s hereby directed to fl1e cert~fied coples of th~s
resolutlon with the Board of Supervisors of the County of
Los Angeles, wlth the Reglstrar of Voters of sald County,
and wlth the County Clerk of sald County.
