A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
REQUESTING THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
OF THE COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES TO
CONSOLIDATE THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA'S
SPECIAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON JUNE 6,
1978 WITH THE STATEWIDE PRI~mRY
ELECTION TO BE HELD ON JUNE 6, 1978.
WHEREAS, the Clty CouncIl has adopted a resolution
calling an election to be held on June 6, 1978, ln the
C~ty of Santa Monlca, for the purpose of submlttlng to the
quallfled electors of sald Clty a proposltion herelnafter
set forth and has ordered sald election to be consolldated
with the stateWlde prlmary election to be held on June 6,
1978.
NOW, THEREFORE, the Clty Councll of the Clty of
Santa Monlca does hereby resolve and deterrnlne as follows:
SECTION 1.
That the Board of Supervlsors of the
County of Los Angeles be, and lS hereby requested to consent
to and order the consolldatlon of sald electlon to be held
ln the Clty of Santa Mon~ca on June 6, 1978 and called by
resolution adopted by the Clty Counc~l wlth the statewlde
prlrnary elect~on to be held on June 6,\1978. The exact
form of the questIon or proposltlon to be voted upon at
sald electlon as it shall appear upon the ballot is as follows:

SECTION 2.
Sald Board of Supervlsors lS hereby
authorlzed to canvass the returns of sald Clty electlon
whlch 15 hereby requested to be consolidated wlth said
statewlde prlmary electlon and sald elect10ns shall be held
In all respects as If there were only one electlon and only
one form of ballot shall be used.
SECTION 3.
Sald Board of Supervlsors lS hereby
requested to Issue lnstructions to the Registrar of Voters
to take any and all steps necessary to the holding of sald
consolidated electlon.
SECTION 4.
The C~ty Clerk of the Clty of Santa
Monlca lS hereby dlrected to flle certlfled copies of thlS
resolutlon with the Board of Supervisors of the County of
Los Angeles, wlth the Reglstrar of Voters of sald County,
and wlth the County Clerk of sald County.
SECTION 5 .
The Clty Clerk shall certlfy to the
adoptlon of thls resolut~on, and thenceforth and thereafter
the same shall be in full force and effect.
