A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA AUTHORIZING FILING OF AN APPLICATION ON BEHALF
OF THE LEAGUE OF CALIFORNIA CITIES WITH THE CALIFORNIA
COUNCIL ON CRIMINAL JUSTICE FOR FEDER~L FUNDING OF A
CRIMINAL JUSTICE PLANNING AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE UNIT.
WHEREAS, the League of Callfornla clties deSIres to
undertake a certain proJect deslgnated Crlminal Justice Plannlng
and Technical ASSlstance Unlt to be funded in part fron funds made
available pursuant to the Crime Control Act of 1973, P.L. 93-83,
adminlstered by the Office of Crlminal JustIce Planning (hereafter
referred to as OCJP) for the Californ~a Councll on Criminal Justlce.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the clty Manager of the Clty of Santa
Monica is authorlzed, on ltS behalf, to submlt the attached Ap~llcation
for Grant for Law Enforcement Purposes to OCJP and 1S authorlzed to
execute on behalf of the League of California Clties the attached
Grant A~ard lor Law Enforcement Purposes includlng any extenslons
or amendments thereof.
SECTION 2. That the applicant agrees to provide all
matching funds required for sald proJect (including any extensions
or amendments thereof) under the crlme Control Act and the rules and
regulatlons of OCJP and the Law Enforcement Asslstance Admlnlstration
(LEAA) and that cash wlll be approprlated as required thereby.

SECTION 3. That grant funds received hereunder shall
not be used to supplant on-golng law enforcement expend~tures.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certlfy to the adoption
of thls resolutlon, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall
be In full force and effect.
