A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SAt'JTA MONICA
CLOSING MAIN STREET BETWEEN PIER
AVENUE At'JD OCEAN PARK BOULEVARD
BETWEEN 6:00 A.M. and 9:00 P.M.
ON SUNDAY, AUGUST 20, 1978
WHEREAS, it is proposed that sales and exhibltions
be conducted out of doors in the area of Main Street between
Pier Avenue and Ocean Park Boulevard on Sunday, August 20,
1978; and
WHEREAS, such sales and exhibitions are in the
public interest, and for the benefit of the City of Santa
Monica; and,
WHEREAS, the closing of ~~in Street to vehicular
traffic between Pier Avenue and Ocean Park Boulevard is
necessary for the safety and protection of persons partic1pating
ln and attending said exhibitlons and sales.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1.
That the clOSlng of ~mln Street
between Pier Avenue and Ocean Park Boulevard on Sunday, August 20,
1978, between the hours of 6:00 o'clock a.m. and 9:00 o'clock p.m.
IS necessary for the safety and protection of persons participating
in and attending the sales and exhibitions to be held thereat.
SECTION 2.
That Main Street, in the City of
Santa Monica, shall be barricaded and closed to vehlcular
trafflc between the hours of 6:00 o'clock a.m. and 9:00 o'clock
p.m. on August 20, 1978.
