RESOLUTION NO. 5021 (CCS)
City Council Series
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF !FE
CITY OF SANTA MONICA REJECTING THF. SOLE
BID RECEIVED FOR SALE OF PROPERTY AND
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE
DIRECTLY FOR SALE OF THIS PROPERTY.
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Monica desired to sell certain
excess property, port~ons of Lots 16, 18 and 20 of Erkenbracher
Syndicate, Santa Monica Tract; and
WHEREAS, this property was formally advertised for sale
in accordance with City Charter and Municipal Code provisions, and
WHEREAS, the sole bid received is considered to be below
the price that may be obtained on the open market; and
WHEP~AS, to further solicit formal bids would be to no
benefit and would entail additional delay and expense.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS;
SECTION 1. That the City of Santa Monica has need to
sell such property.
SECTION 2. That the sole bid received through formal
bid procedure does not represent the open market value of this
property and is rejected.
SECTION 3. That to further advertise for bids would be to
no benefit and would entail additional delay and expense.
SECTION 4. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to
sell said property on the open market without further advertising
for bids.
SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall
be in full force and effect.
