A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO ORDER THE VACATION OF
THOSE PORTIONS OF A CERTAIN STREET KNOWN AS THIRD STREET
FROM BROADWAY TO COLORADO AVENUE, AND THOSE CERTAIN
ALLEYS KNOWN AS SECOND COURT AND THIRD COURT FROM
BROADWAY TO COLORADO AVENUE IN THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA,
CALI FORNIA
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the City Council of the City of Santa Monica
hereby declares its intention to order the vacation of all of that portion
of Third St. between Broadway and Colorado Ave., and the vacation of those
portions of Second and Third Courts between Broadway and Colorado Avenue,
as shown on the map of Town of Santa Monica, Blocks 196 and 197, as recorded
in Book 39, Pages 45 et seq. of Miscellaneous Records, in the City of Santa
Monica, County of Los Angeles, State of California.
For further particulars as to the proposed vacation and abandon-
ment of the hereinbefore mentioned areas, reference is made respectively
to Map No. 4201, dated June 15, 1978, now on file in the office of the City
Clerk in the City Hall, Santa Monica, California.
SECTION 2. The City Council of the City of Santa Monica, in
vacating the above mentioned portions of Third Street and Second and Third
Courts, elects to proceed under and in accordance with the provisions of the
"Street Vacation Act of 1941," being Division 9, Part 3 of the Streets and
Highways Code of the State of California.
SECTION 3. That the hour of 7:30 o'clock p.m. of the 25th day
of July, 1978, in the Council Chamber in the City Hall, Santa Monica,
California, be and the same hereby 1S fixed as the time and place when and
where all persons interested in or objecting to the proposed vacation may

appear before the City Council and offer evidence in relation thereto.
SECTIO~ 4. That the Street Superintendent of the City of
Santa Monica hereby is directed to cause Notices of Street Vacation to be
posted as required by the Street Vacation Act of 1941, being Division 9,
Part 3 of the Streets and Highways Code, and the City Council hereby elects
to proceed under the provisions of said Act.
SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall cause this Resolution of
Intention to be published twice in the Evening Outlook, a newspaper published
and circulated in the City of Santa Monica, the flrst of said publications
shall be not less than fifteen (15) days prior to July 25, 1978.
SECTION 6. That the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of thlS resolution and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in full
force and effect.
