TffR CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF s..ulTA MONICA DOES HEREBY
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
WHF.REAS, Section 65302.2 of the Goverrrment Code requires
that the SeisIDlc Safety and Noise Elements of the City's Master
Plan be adopted on or before September 20, 1974; and,
WHEREAS, the City's M~ster Plan is currently in the process
of being revised and updated t~ bring it into greater conformity
wlth :prese!lt requirements; and,
~~BEAS, the preparatlon and adoption o~ the Seismic Safety
and Noise Elements are being prepared as part o~ the comprehen-
Slve plan reVlSlon and updating;
NOW, THE.-o.EFOP.E, TIm CI'l'Y COU1ifCIL OF TIfF. CITY OF SA1ITA r10J)J-rCA
DOES HEBKBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOV1S:
SECTION 1. The City of Santa Monica hereby petltions the
Council O!l Intergovernmental Rela~lons fer an extension of one
year for the preparatlon and adep~lon of the Seismic Safety and
Noise Elements of the Master Plan on the basis that the prepara-
tion of the req11ired elements are being accomplished within a
comprehensive general plan program ~nvolving a systematic evalu-
ation cf the interrelated aspects whlch would result in an inte-
grated product.
SECTIO~ 2. The Dlrector of Plannlng shall forward a certl-
fled copy of th~3 resolution to the Councll on Intergovern2ental
Relations Wlt~ any support~ng ~ate:lal requ~~ed.
SECTION 3. ~te Clty Clerk stall certlfy to the ado~ti~n Gf
this resolution and snall cause t~llS resolutlon and hlS certiflca-
tion to be entered in the Book of Besolui,i:JLs of the Counc~l of
the Ci t;r.
