A RESOLUTION OF THE REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY OF
SANTA MONICA AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF THE
AGENCYTONEGOT~TEANDEXECUTEALLAGREEMENTSNECESSARY
AND APPROPRIATE FOR THE TEMPORARY MANAGEMENT AND
MAINTENANCE OF AGENCY PROPERTY, IN ORDER TO CARRY OUT AND
IMPLEMENT THE REDEVELOPMENT PLANS FOR THE DOWNTOWN
REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT, EARTHQUAKE RECOVERY
REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT, OCEAN PARK REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT
I(a) AND OCEAN PARK REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT I(b)
WHEREAS, the Redevelopment Agency of the City of Santa Monica (the "Agency") is
engaged in activities necessary to carry out and implement the Redevelopment Plans for the Santa
Monica Downtown Redevelopment Project, Earthquake Recovery Redevelopment Project, Ocean
Park Redevelopment Project 1 (a) and Ocean Park Redevelopment Project I (b) (the "Redevelopment
Plans"), which Redevelopment Plans have been adopted by the City Council of the City of Santa
Monica; and
WHEREAS, the Agency owns and shall from time to time own real property within the
Santa Monica Downtown Redevelopment Project area, Earthquake Recovery Redevelopment
Project area, Ocean Park Redevelopment Project I(a) area and Ocean Park Redevelopment Project
l(b) area (the "Agency Property"); and
WHEREAS, in order to carry out and implement the Redevelopment Plans, it is necessary
for the Agency to, from time to time, negotiate and enter into agreements for the management,
maintenance and use of Agency Property, including, but not limited to, tieback license agreements,
short-term leases and rental agreements; and
WHEREAS, Health and Safety Code Section 33400 provides that the Agency may rent,
maintain, manage, operate, repair and clear Agency Property.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Redevelopment Agency of the City of
Santa Monica as follows:
1. The Agency hereby finds and determines that the Agency's use of its authority under
Health aI,ld Safety Code Section 33400 is necessary to carry out and implement the
RedevelOpment Plans.
2, The Executive Director ofthc Agency (or designee) is hereby authorized, on behalf
of the Agency, to negotiate and execute all documents and agreements necessary and
appropriate for the temporary management, maintenance and use of Agency
Property, including, but not limited to, tieback license agreements, short-term leases
and rental agreements, and to administer the Agency's obligations, responsibilities
and duties to be performed thereunder.
