(CITY COUNCIL SERIES)
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE AND EXECUTE
A GRANT AGREEMENT AND RELATED DOCUMENTS WITH THE STATE
OF CALIFORNIA OFFICE OF TRAFFIC SAFETY FOR ACCEPTANCE AND
RECEIPT OF GRANT FUNDING FOR THE WALKABLE WESTSIDE
CAMPAIGN FOR PEDESTRIAN AND TRAFFIC SAFETY
WHEREAS, the State of California Office of Traffic Safety (?OTS?) has approved the
City of Santa Monica?s grant application for the Walkable Westside Campaign for
Pedestrian and Traffic Safety in the amount of $150,000, as part of OTS?s 1999 Grant
Cycle; and
WHEREAS, the OTS conditions the use of grant funds in accordance with their policies
which require a Resolution from the City Council accepting the grant money,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES
HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Santa Monica hereby authorizes the City
Manager to negotiate and execute a grant agreement and any other related documents
with OTS for the acceptance and receipt of grant funding for the Walkable Westside
Campaign for Pedestrian and Traffic Safety.
SECTION 2. The City shall forward a certified copy of this resolution to OTS for its
processing.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify the adoption of this Resolution, and
thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
