RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE MEMORANDA OF
UNDERSTANDING AND LETTERS OF AGREEMENT WITH THE LOS
ANGELES COUNTY METROPOLITAN TRANSPORTATION AUTHORITY ("MTA") FOR
THE RECEIPT OF GRANT FUNDING FOR SIX PROJECTS APPROVED IN MTA'S 1999
CALL FOR PROJECTS PROCESS: SANTA MONICA BIG BLUE BUS BIKE RACK ON
BUS PROGRAM; WALKABLE WESTSIDE PEDESTRIAN SAFETY CAMPAIGN;
PEDESTRIAN EXTENSION TO THE DOWNTOWN TRANSIT MALL; OCEAN AVENUE
SIGNAL SYCHRONIZATION; EXPOSITION CORRIDOR COMMUTER BIKE PATH; AND
SANTA MONICA TRANSIT SERVING PARKING FACILITY
WHEREAS, The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority, has approved
six of the City of Santa Monica's grant applications for one time appropriations of Grant Funding
as part of MTA's 1999 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) Call for Projects; and
WHEREAS, the MTA conditions the use of said monies in accordance with their policies;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
DOES HEREBY RESOLVE:
SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Santa Monica hereby authorizes the City
Manager to execute a Memorandum of Understanding or a Letter of Agreement with the MTA
for the receipt of Grant Funding for Santa Monica the Big Blue Bus Bike Rack On Bus Program;
the Walkable Westside Pedestrian Safety Campaign; the Pedestrian Extension To The
Downtown Transit Mall; the Ocean Avenue Signal Synchronization; the Exposition Corridor
Commuter Bike Path; and the Santa Monica Transit Serving Parking Facility.
SECTION 2. The City shall forward a certified copy of this resolution to the MTA, for
processing.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify the adoption of this Resolution, and thenceforth
and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
