'WHEREAS, the City has initiated eminent domain proceedings for the acquisition . ----of the old Sorrento property; WHEREAS, the pre-trial conference date for such litigation has been set fox July 19, 1972; and WHEREAS, it would be in the best interest of the City to acquire the subject ,property without litigation; , I NOW.
