SUBJECT: Easement for Sidewalk - Neilson Way, Pier Avenue to
Marine Street
The Bank of America has offered to dedicate to the City
for sidewalk purposes, without cost, a 4-1/2' wide strip
of property on the northeast side of Neilson Way from
Pier Avenue to Marine Street.
As you know, there is no publicly owned sidewalk area
on the northeast side of Neilson Way at this location,
since the property line coordinates with the back of
curb line.
The increased pedestrian volumes caused by the construc-
tion of Redevelopment Project I-a and I-b make the
acquisition of a sidewalk in this area desirable.
It is recommended that the City Council be requested to
accept this dedication.

inafter described real property and for itself, its successors and
assigns does hereby designate and set aside for street and highway
purposes, and irrevocably offers to dedicate to the City of SSBta Monica
an easement for public street and highway purposes, the hereinafter
described real property:
That portion of Rancho La Ballona in the City of
santa Monica, County of Los Angeles, state of California,
being a portion of that certain lOa foot strip marked "S.C.R.R.
Company's Land" on the Re-plat of Bay View Tract in said
City as per map recorded in Map Book 1, page 1, records of
said County bounded northwesterly by the southeasterly line
of pier Avenue 64 feet wide, as established by Final Ordinance
of Condemnation in the Superior Court of the state of California
in and for the County of Los Angeles, a certified copy thereof
being recorded in Deed Book 5568, page 139; and the south-
easterly by the northwesterly line of Marine street 40 feet
wide as deeded to the City of Santa Monica recorded in Deed
. Book 1901, Page 153 records of said County being the south-
westerly ~.25 feet of the above described parcel and that
portion beginning at a point in the northeasterly line of
said 4.25' strip distant southeasterly 4.5 feet measured
along said northeasterly line from its intersection with
said southeasterly line of pier Avenue; thence northwesterly
along said northeasterly line 4.5 feet to said intersection
with line of pier Avenue~ thence northeasterly along said
line of pier Avenue 4.5 feet; thence southerly in a direot
line to the point of beginning.

Mr. Reidy moved to accept the offer of the Bank

was seconded by Mrs. Hoover and carried unanimously.
