THE GRANTOR, HOLIDAY INNS OF AMERICA, INC., a corporation, hereby
grants to the CITY OF SANTA MONICA, a Municipal Corporation, ease-
~ents and rights of way to construct, lay, install. use, maintain,
alter, add to, repair, replace, inspect and/or remove at any time'
and from time to time underground storm drains in and under and through
that certain real property in the City of Santa Monica, county of LOs
Angeles, state of california, the centerlines of which are described as:
parcel 1 A ten(lO) foot wide easement for storm drain purposes
commencing at the intersection of the northeasterly line
of Ocean Avenue (100 feet wide) and the southeasterly
line of Colorado Avenue (80 feet wide): thence North
450 141 30" East along said southeasterly line 319.48
feet: thence North 720 41' 30" East along the southerly
line of Main Street (80 feet wide) 55.50 feet to the
True Point of Beginning: thence South 170 18' 30" East
42.29 feet to a point being the beginning of a tangent
curve concave westerly and having a radius of 45 feet
said point hereinafter known as "Point A": thence
westerly along said curve an arc distance of 55.25 feet:
thence South 530 02' 30" West tangent to said curve,
125 feet more or less to the northwesterly line of said
Olympic Boulevard, the side lines to be shortened and
lengthened to terminate in said line of Olympic Boulevard:
and
Parcel 2 A ten (10) foot wide easement for storm drain purposes
commencing at the point hereinabove in Parcel 1 described
as "Point A": thence southerly along said curve having
a radius of 45 feet, an arc distance of 12 feet to the
True Point of Beginning: thence North 730 43' 49" East 87
feet more or less to said northwesterly line of Olympic
Boulevard, the side lines of said easement to be shortened
and lengthened to terminate in said line of Olympic
Boulevard.
The Grantee, its contractors, agents and employees shall have free
access to said storm drains and every part thereof at all times for
the purpose of exercising the rights herein granted, provided however.
that in making any excavation on the property of the Grantor. the
Grantee shall make the same in such a manner as will cause the least
injury to the surface of the ground around such excavation, and shall
replace the earth so removed by it and restore the surface of the
ground to as near the same condition as it was prior to such excavation
if possible.
