The southeasterly 340 feet of the northeasterly 50 feet of
lot 5, in block 4 of the Orchard Tract, in the city of Santa
Monica, county of Los Angeles, state of California, as per
map recorded in book 60 pages 15 and 16 of Miscellaneous
Records, in the office of the county recorder of said county.
EXCEPT therefrom the southeasterly 40 feet.
ALSO EXCEPT all of the minerals and mineral ores of every kind
and character occurring 500 feet beneath the surface thereof,
now known to exist or hereafter discovered upon, within or
underlying said land 0 r that may be produced therefrom including,
without limiting the generality of the foregoing, all petroleum,
oil, natural gas and other hydrocarbon substances and products
derived therefrom, together with the exclusive and perpetual
right of said grantor, its successors and assigns, of ingress
and egress beneath the surface of said land to explore for,
extract, mine and remove the same, and to make such use of said
land beneath the surface as is necessary or useful in connection
therewith and other use thereof, which uses may include lateral
or slant drilling, digging, boring or sinking of wells, shafts
or tunnels to other lands not subject to those reservations and
easements, provided, however, that said grantor, its successors
and assigns, shall not use the surface of said land in the
exercise of any of said rights and shall not disturb the sur-
face of said land or any improvement thereon or remove or
impair the lateral or subjacent support of said land or any
improvements thereon, and shall conduct no operations within
500 feet of the surface of said land.
In the exercise of said reserved exclusive easements, mineral
rights and reservations, grantor may pool said lands with other
lands. The rights of grantor shall include, but shall, in no
way, be limited to, all subterranean rights necessary, inci-
dental or convenient to the full exercise of the rights reserved
by grantor below 500 feet of the surface of said land and shall
include the right to drill and maintain well holes through the
said land below 500 feet from the surface thereof for the pur-
pose of removing oil, gas and other hydrocarbon substances from
other lands whether such other lands be adjacent, contiguous or
distant from said lands, as reserved by Pacific Electric Railway
Company, a corporation, in deed recorded May 27, 1965, in book
D-29l9 page 894, Official Records.

(CITY COUNCIL SERIES) CONTRACT NO. 1563 (CCS)
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA MONI CA ACCEPTING A GRANT OF REAL
PROPERTY FOR STREET PURPOSES.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The City of Santa Monica hereby accepts the
grant of real property described in the Grant Deed fram George
S. Krell, a married man, and Thelma Krell, his wife, to the City
of Santa Monica, dated March 2, 1964, for street purposes, and
the City Manager is authorized and directed to endorse the City's
acceptance on said Grant Deed. Said property is more particularly
described as follows:
A strip of land, 50.00 feet in width, lying within Lot 5,
of Mrs. S. L. Session's Subdivision of Block 30 and part
of Block 47, of the Lucas Tract, in the City of Santa
Monica, County of Los Angeles, State of California, as
per map recorded in Book II, Page 24 of Miscellaneous
Records, in the office of the County Recorder of said
County lying 25.00 feet, measured at right angles, on
either side of the following described center line:
Beginning at a point in the Southwesterly line of Frederick
Street, as shown on the map of Tract No. 22079, recorded
in Book 590, Page 24 of Maps. in said Recorder's Office,
distant South 330 16' 33" East, thereon, 137.00 feet, from
the most Easterly corner of Tract No. 16119. as shown on
map recorded in Book 354 Pages 47 and 48 of said maps,
thence at right angles to said Southwesterly line of
I Frederick Street, South 560 43' 27" West, to a line which
extends Northwesterly, from a point in the Southeasterly
line of said Lot 5, distant Northeasterly thereon, 300.00
feet, from the most Southerly corner thereof, to a point
in the Southeasterly line of said Tract No. 16119, Distant
Northeasterly thereon, 300.00 feet, from the most Southerly
corner thereof.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this resolution. and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall
be in full force and effect.
