GRANT DEED
SOUTHERN PACIFIC TRANSPORTATION COMPANY, a Delaware corporation, Grantor, hereby
grants to CITY OF SANTA MONICA, a municipal corporation, Grantee, that certain
real property situated at or near Bergamot, County of Los Angeles, State of
California, and more particularly described in Exhibit "A" attached and hereby
made a part hereof.
Grantor excepts from the Property hereby conveyed and reserves unto itself, its
successors and assigns, all minerals and mineral rights, interests, and
royalties, including without limiting the generality thereof, oil, gas and other
hydrocarbon substances, as well as metallic or other solid minerals, in and under
the Property ; however , Grantor or its successors and ass i gns, shall not have
the right for any purpose whatsoever to enter upon, into or through the surface
of the Property in connection therewith.
This grant is made subject to easements, covenants, conditions, reservations and
restrictions of record; any matter which would be disclosed by survey,
investigation or inquiry; and any tax, assessment or other governmental 1 ien
against said property.

Those portions of those parts of the Rancho San
Vicente Y Santa Monica, in the City of Santa Monica, County
of Los Angeles, State of California, described in the deed to
Los Angeles and Independence Railroad Company, recorded on
December 11, 1875, in Book 40, page 282 of Deeds, in the
office of the County Recorder of said county and in the deed
to Southern Paci~ic Railroad Company, recorded on August II,
1894, in Book 955, page 142 of said Deeds, included within
the following described lines:
Beginning at the point of intersection of the south-
easterly line of the land described in said deed to Southern

conveyed or transferred to the City of Santa Monica, a municipal
corporation, by the deed, grant conveyance or instrument dated
September __, 1989, from or executed by Southern Pacific
Transportation Company, a Delaware corporation, is hereby
accepted by the City of Santa Monica, a municipal corporation, by
authorization of the City Council of the City of Santa Monica
contained in Minutes of the City Council dated August 22, 1989,
and the City of Santa Monica hereby consents to the acquisition
of said property.
