WHEREAS, the improvements authorized by the approval of
Application for Development Review Number 369 shall extend on,
above, and under the southwesterly nineteen (19) feet of that

portion of Twenty-Fourth Street between Santa Monica Boulevard
and Santa Monica Place South; and
WHEREAS, only the northeasterly forty-one (41) feet of that
portion of Twenty-Fourth Street between Santa Monica Boulevard
and Santa Monica Place South is necessary and convenient for
constructing, maintaining, operating, replacing, removing, and
renewing all sanitary sewers, water mains, and other public
utilities and appurtenant structures and general public access;

SECTION l. The City Council of the City of Santa Monica
hereby repeals Resolution Number 7581 (CCS) in its entirety, as
adopted on March 15, 1988, and recorded in the Los Angeles County
Recorder's Office on March 31, 1988, as Document No. 88-432778.
-, SECTION 2. The City Council of the City of Santa Monica,
having heard the evidence offered in relation to the proposed
vacation of a portion of Twenty-Fourth Street, 60 feet in width,
between Santa Monica Boulevard and Santa Monica Place South
described as follows: the northeasterly boundary of which is the
southwesterly boundary of Lot 3 and the 20 foot extension of said
southwesterly boundary to the southeast, all as shown in Tract
No. 4208 in the City of Santa Monica, County of Los Angeles,
State of California, as per Map recorded in Book 45, Page 8, of

County, hereby finds from all of the evidence submitted that the
portion of the street referred to and proposed to be vacated by
Resolution No. 7528 (CCS) , and formerly vacated by Resolution
Number 7581 (CCS), is and remains unnecessary for present or
prospective street purposes and is and remains consistent with
the General Plan of the City of Santa Monica. Map Number 4425
entitled "Map Showing Portion of Twenty-Fourth Street between
Santa Monica Boulevard and Santa Monica Place South to be Vacated .
Under the Provisions of the street Vacation Act of 1941," dated
November 17, 1988, is hereby attached and incorporated into this
Resolution.

SECTION 3.

and except from said vacation an easement, the extent of which

entire length of said street for the purpose of constructing,
maintaining, operating, replacing, removing, and renewing all

Council of the City of Santa Monica finds that the public
convenience and necessity require such reservation.
SECTION 4. Oscar Katz, as Trustee of the Oscar Katz Trust,
in consideration of the aforementioned vacation has and will
dedicate to the City of Santa Monica a twelve (12) foot wide
strip of land for the creation of a, right-hand turn lane

SECTION 7. Pursuant to Streets an~tijighways Code Section
8325, the City Clerk shall also cause a copy of this Resolution
to be recorded in the office of the County Recorder of the County
of Los Angeles. Upon such recording, the vacation shall be
complete.
SECTION 8. Resolution Number 7581 (CCS) is hereby repealed
and shall be of no further force and effect.
SECTION 9. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of

this Resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be
in full force and effect.
