DEED FOR ALLEY PURPOSES,
This Indenture made this 23d day of September 1918,
by and between the Santa Monica Investment Company, a cor-
poration organized and, existing ,under and by virtue of the
laws of the State of Oalifornia, with its prinoipal place
of business at Santa Monica, California, party of the first
part, and City of Santa Monica, a Municipal Corporation,
party of the second part.
WITNESSETH: That, for and in consideration of the sum
of ten dollars ($10.00) and other valuable consideration the
party of the first part hereby grants and dedioates to the
City of Santa Monica, a strip of land 10 feet in width and
150 feet in length, being the Southeasterly 10ft. of Lot "w"
Block 166, of the Town of Santa Monica, as pe~ map the~eof
reoorded in Book 39, page 45 et seq., and Book 3, Pages 80
and 81 Miscellaneous Reoords of Los Angeles County,Califor-
nia, for the purpose of an alleyway.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, said party of the first part,by
resolution of its Board of Directors has caused these pres-
ents to be executed and to be signed by its President and
Secretary,and its corporate seal to be affixed hereto the
day and year herein first above written.

Resolved that B. A. Nebeker, President of this Company
and J. Euclid Miles, the Seoretary thereof be and they hereby
are authorized to grant to the City of Santa Monioa for Alley
pUl:'poses, the following described property;
Southeasterly 10 ft. of Lot "w" Block 166 of the ~own
of Santa Monica, as per map thereof reoorded in Book 39 Page
45 et seq., and Book 3, pages 80 and 81 Miscellaneous Reoords
of Los Angeles County, California.
And that said President and said Seoretary be and they
hereby are authorized to exeoute and deliver good and suffi-
cient transfer of a Deed to said property and to sign the
name of said corporation thereto, and to affix thereto its
o o.t'pot'a te seal.
I hereby certify that at a regular meeting of the
Di.t'ectors of the Santa Monica Investment Company, a corpora-
tion the above resolution was unanimously adopted; that said
.t'esolution was duly recorded in the minutes of said corpora-
tion and has never peen. revoked.
