hand paid, the receipt of which 1s hereby acknowledged,
do hereby grant to the City of Santa Monica, 8 municipal
corporation, all that real property situated in the County
of Los Angeles, State' of California, described as follows:
Being a portion of the Rancho San Vicente y Santa
Monica, commencing at a point in the Northerly line of
p ~"CJ,.' -Fremont Avenue, Santa Monica, where the Northeasterly
line of Seventeenth Street prolongated Southeasterly
would intersect the same, as per Map recorded in Book 3,
Pages 80 and 81 and Book 39, Pages 45 et seq., Miscella_
neous Records of Los Angeles County; thence extending
from s aid point of beginning South 560 47' W. along the
Northerly line of Fremont Avenue (said Avenue is now
EIghty (80) feet in width) Four Hundred and Seventy_eight
and Sixty-seven Hundredths (478.67) feet; thence N. 44"
45' W. along the Northeasterly boundary line of Woodlawn
Cemetery Addition No.1, as per Map thereof No. 236, on
file in the office of the Los. Angeles County Recorder,
Two Hundred Eighty-three and Ninety-eight Hundredths

along the Northeasterly boundary line of Woodlawn Cemetery,

two (552) feet to the Southeasterly boundary line of the
Erkenbrecher Syndicate Santa Monica Tract, as per map 1

thereof in Map Book 6, Pages 26 and 27, Records of
LOB Angeles County; thence North 450 15t East along
the Southeasterly Boundary line of said Erkenbrecher
Syndicate Santa Monica Tract, Seven Hundred Ten (710)
feet to the Northeasterly line of Seventeenth Street,
as before mentioned; thence S. 440 45' East along said
Northeasterly line of Seventeenth Street pro10ngated,
Nine Hundred Thirty-one and Ninety-eight Hundredths
(931.98) feet to the place of beginning, containing
Twelve and Five Hundred Sixty-five Thousandths (12.565)
acres of land, more or less.
Excepting therefrom the following described property:
Beginning at the most Easterly corner of Woodlawn Ceme-
tery, as per Map in Book 70, Page 42 et seq., Miscella-
neous Records of Los Angeles County; extending thence
along the Northeasterly line of said Woodlawn Cemetery
N. 440 45' West One Hundred Eighty-one (181) feet:
thence North 450 15' East Two Hundred Forty-one (241)
feet; thence South 440 45' East One Hundred Eighty-one
(181) feet to the most Northerly corner of Woodlawn
Cemetery Addition No.1, as per map the~eof No. 236 on
file in the office of the Los Angeles County Recorder;
thence along the Northwesterly line of said Woodlawn
Cemetery Addition No.1, South 450 15' West Two Hundred
Forty-one (24l) feet to the place of beginning, contain-
ing one (1) aere, more or less.
TO HAVE AND TO HOLD to the said grantee its successors I
and assigns forever. SubJect, however, to all taxes and
assessments now or hereafter levied.
