Gentlemen:
Enclosed are copies of an Easement Deed prepared by you
and submitted to us for signature. These have been
signed by a duly authorized officer and are delivered
to you upon the following conditions:
(1) The top of the water main shall be at
least three (3) feet below the surface of the real
property.
(2) Any work done by you in connection with
the construction, installation, repair or maintenance
of the water main or appurtenances will be performed in
a first-class and workmanlike manner and in compliance
with all applicable laws, regulations, rules and ordi-
nances; and after any such work is accomplished, the
surface of the real property will be restored to its
previously existing condition.
(J) You shall hold us harmless from and
against any loss, cost, damage or liability arising
directly or indirectly out of the performance of such
work or the use by you of the easement granted in said
deed.

FOR AND IN CONSIDERATION of the sum of $10.00, receipt
"
of which is hereby acknowledged, DOUGLAS AIRCRAFT COMPANY,
INCORPORATED, a corporation, does hereby grant and convey to the
CITY OF SANTA MONICA, a municipal corporation, an easement over,
along and across that certain real property in the City of Santa
Monica, County of LOs Angeles, state of California, more
particularly described as follows:
A strip of land ten (10) feet in width for the purpose
of constructing, installing, repairing, or maintaining a water
main, together with necessary appurtenances, lying five (5)
feet on each side of the following described centerline:
Commencing at the point of intersection of the
northeasterly line of Tract No. 10529, as per
map recorded in Book 160, pages 21 to 25 inclus-
ive of Maps, in the office of the Recorder of
Los Angeles County, with the southeasterly line
of that certain parcel of land described in deed
to Douglas Aircraft Company, Incorporated, re-
corded in Book 22979, page 39 of Official Records
of said CountYj thence northeasterly, along
said last mentioned southeasterly line, to a
point in said line that is distant 37 feet north-
easterly, measured at right angles, from the
northeasterly line of said Tract No. 10529, said
point being the true point of beginningj thence
northwesterly, along a line that is parallel to
t and distant 37 feet northeasterly from said
northeasterly line of said Tract No. 10529, to
its intersection with the northwesterly line of
the land described in said deed to Douglas
Aircraft Company, Incorporated, said line also
being the southeasterly line of Ocean Park
Boulevard as recited in said deed, said point
being the end of therenterline of the easement.
Dated this 8th day of July , 1955.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OOUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA MONICA ACCEPTING AN EASEMENT
DEED AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
EXECUTE A LETTER AGREEMEnT IN CONNECTION
THERElIJ!'l'H.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CI~~ OF SANTA MONICA DOES RESOLVE
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1, That certain Easement Deed dated the 8th
day of July, 1955, from Douglas Aircraft Company, Incorporated,
be and the same 1s hereby accepted.
SECTION 2. The City Manager 113 authorized and
directed to record said Easement Deed.
SECTION 3 That certain r~tter Agreement dated July
8~ 1955, setting forth the conditions under which the foregoing
Easement Deed is delivered to the Cit3' of Santa Monica, be
and the same is hereby approved and the City Manager is hereby
authorized to sign said Letter Agreement on behalf of the City.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this resolution and thenceforth and thereafter the
same shall be in full force and effect.
ADOPT.ED AND APPROVED this 26th day of July ,1955.
