Gentlemen:
There is before your honorable body for considera-
tion at this time, the vacation of Sixteenth street between
Marine Street and Seventeenth Street.
Being the owner of Lot 1, Tract No. 14730, the
property to which the above portion ot Sixteenth street
would revert, if it be vacated, I have been requested to
grant an easement to the Southern Counties Gas Co. to
maintain their underground utilities.
Although I am in favor ot the vacation of the said
portion ot Sixteenth Street, I would have no use for the I
,
reverted land inasmuch as it is unusable due to the i
existance of an open drainage ditch across the property. I
It is the intention ot this communication to
constitute my protest to the said vacation, unless the City
of Santa Monica would accept a deed of conveyance tor the
rever~ed land and agree to bear all costs relative to such
conveyance, in which event I don't oppose the vacation.
