Dear Mayor Davis and Esteemed Councilmembers:
Please deny Councilmember Zwick's request to use his travel funds to cover the registration fees and
travel expenses associated with attending the YIMBYtown Annual Conference to be held February
26-28, 2024 in Austin, TX.
This request demonstrates disrespect for the ongoing debate around outsized and excessive market
rate housing development in Santa Monica and its impacts on the City's financial health,
infrastructure, emergency response, unique character, and many other public resources.
Councilmember Zwick should not be allowed to use our public money to pay for such an
ideologically controversial and overtly political experience, and one which is completely unnecessary
to doing his job as a Councilmember.
