Re: Strong Endorsement for the Appointment of Anya
Baroff to Disabilities Commission
Dear Mayor Brock and Esteemed Members of the City
Council,
I trust this letter finds you in good health and spirits. I am
writing to express my wholehearted support for the
appointment of Ms. Anya Baroff to fill one of the two vacancies
on the City's Disabilities Commission. Having observed her
dedication and contributions to the Disability Community
Resource Center (DCRC) since 2020, amid the challenges
posed by the global COVID-19 pandemic, I am confident in
recommending her for this significant role.
Anya Baroff, a Santa Monica native, brings with her a
profound commitment to public service and a deep-rooted
connection to our community. Having attended Santa Monica
K-12 schools, Anya has consistently demonstrated her
dedication to the well-being of our city. Through our
interactions at the DCRC, I have had the privilege of
witnessing not only her academic prowess but also her
unwavering advocacy for the disability community at large.
Anya's commitment to disability justice is truly commendable.
Her advocacy extends beyond mere rhetoric; it is rooted in a
genuine desire to elevate the voices of marginalized
communities. This extraordinary commitment, coupled with
her unique perspective and lived experiences, positions Anya
as an exceptional candidate for the role of Commissioner.
