A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO REVISE THE CONFIDENTIAL UNREPRESENTED
EMPLOYEES PAY PLAN
WHEREAS, on or about May 20, 2021, employees who are participants of
the Confidential Unrepresented Employees (“CUE”) Pay Plan submitted a petition
for recognition in accordance with Santa Monica Municipal Code section 2.05.030; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with Santa Monica Municipal Code section 2.05.090,
the Employee Relations Officer determined that the proposed unit was not an appropriate
unit; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with Santa Monica Municipal Code section 2.05.120,
employees who are participants of the CUE Pay Plan appealed the Employee Relations’
Officer’s determination and a mediation was held by the State Mediation and
Conciliation Service; and
WHEREAS, as a result of mediation and subsequent
communications, representatives of the City and employees who are participants of
the CUE Pay Plan reached an agreement on a revised CUE Pay Plan, which was
presented to the City Council of the City of Santa Monica on July 25, 2023, for
consideration; and

WHEREAS, the purpose of the Pay Plan is to promote and provide harmonious
relations, cooperation, and understanding between the City and participants of the CUE
Pay Plan.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Santa Monica hereby approves and
authorizes the City Manager to execute a revised Confidential Unrepresented Employees
Pay Plan (FY2022-2025).
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution, and
thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
