I support the appointment of Steven Johnson to the unscheduled vacancy on the Recreation & Parks Commission for a
term that ends on 6/30/24.
Steven has been active in both youth and adult sports in Santa Monica for many years, as both a player and as a coach.
I agree with the Goals that Steven listed in his impressive application, and I think he would be a very valuable addition to
the Commission.
I also support the re-appointment of Andrew Gomez and John C. Smith to the Commission.

City Council,
I would personally like to endorse Steven Johnson for the Parks and Recreation candidacy. He has been in the
community for many years as a coach for AYSO and Santa Monica Girls Fast Pitch, as well as being the leader in the
community for men’s and women’s rugby. We have worked together for many years on the FSAC, and this is where I
was able to get to know him best. The community of Santa Monica needs people like this that understand our needs for
all Youth and Adult sports, as well as the open community.
