Alex,
I applied for a position on the disabilities commission while still a resident of Santa Monica. I was very pleased
to be accepted to the commission. Over the last two years, I have been back and forth between Santa Monica
and a long term job I am involved with in Salt Lake City. My move has become permanent, and with all the
new stresses of my job, and the distance from my old home, I feel I cannot participate in the commission any
more. I lived in Santa Monica for 26 years, and raised our 3 kids there. We still own a home in Sunset Park,
and we may eventually move back. It's hard to know what the future holds. It will always be my home and I
miss it.
The city of Santa Monica is blessed to have you as chair of the commission. You have a very thorough and
gentle way of running the meetings with dedication. Thank you for the chance to be a part of it, even though
meetings that were few and far between.
