AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA MONICA AMENDING SECTION
41l6A OF THE SANTA MONICA MUNICIPAL CODE
PERTAINING TO THE LICENSING OF DOGS.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES
HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1.
Section 4116A of the Santa Monica
Mun1cipal Code is amended to read as follows:
Section 4116A. Refund of License Fee. Any person
who harbors an unneutered male or unspayed female dog within the
C1ty, and who subsequently causes said dog to be neutered or spayed
shall be entitled to a refund of the license fee pald hereunder
for the year In which such dog 1S neutered or spayed upon presentation
of proof to the City Clerk.
SECTION 2.
Any provision of the Santa Monlca
Munlclpal Code or append~ces thereto ~ncons~stent herewith to the
extent of such inconslstencies and no further, are hereby repealed
or modified to that extent necessary to effect the provisions of
th1s ordinance.
SECTION 3.
If any section, subsection, sentence,
clause or phrase of th~s ordinance is for any reason held to be
invalid or unconstitutional by a dec~S10n of any court of competent
jurisdiction, such decision shall not affect the valid~ty of the
remaining portions of the ordinance. The City Council hereby
declares that it would have passed thlS ordinance and each and
every section, subsect10n, sentence, clause or phrase not declared
invalid or unconst~tutional without regard to whether any portion
of the ordinance would be subsequently declared 1nvalld or uncon-

shall attest to the passage of thlS ordlnance. The Clty Clerk
The Mayor shall sign and the C~ty Clerk
shall cause the same to be publlshed once ~n the offlcal newspaper
Wlthln fifteen (15) days after its adoption. The ordinance shall
become effectlve after thirty (30) days from ~ts adopt~on.
